Anyone who enters the doors of FBC is quick to learn that our church is extremely loving and caring. It is evident through the daily exchange of kind words, smiles, warm hugs, and our willingness to help those in need. We are constantly seeking ways to show others the love of God, in turn, creating a family-like environment for our members.
One area I feel that we as a church could extend our reach is in regards to our college students. Last week, a few of us met and brainstormed ways to reach out to our college students. The overall goal of this ministry would be to show our college students that they are loved, missed, and still considered part of our FBC family even when distance separates us.
Over the course of this school year, we would like to invite you to help us pack and send at least one care package per semester to each college student. Throughout November, we will be collecting items to be included in the first round of boxes. In an effort to keep the contents of each box uniform, there will be sign-up sheets outside of Alex’s office requesting specific items. Please make sure all of your donations arrive at church by Sunday, November 26th. Donations can be placed in the tub under the sign-up sheets.
We would also like to invite you to meet at church on Monday, November 27th at 6:00pm to help pack the first round of boxes. We plan to ship all of the packages the following day. Thanks so much for your support of this ministry! If you have any questions, please see me, April Carty, or one of our ministers.
Thanks,
Maria Lockridge
