First Baptist has a long history of benevolent ministries from Baptist Housing to the Food Pantry to the Shoebox ministries; from the Mustard Seed Garden to the youth outreach to Winter Relief.  Please bring your Sunday School Class to join Austin Carty as he leads a book study on Steve Corbett’s When Helping Hurts: How to Alleviate Poverty without Hurting the Poor and Yourself.  Gain a better understanding of the effects of poverty, learn what being an ‘image bearer’ means and discuss ways our benevolence can become even more effective and transformational.  Books will be on sale in the office on February 25, 2018 for $12.00.  (Used copies are also available on Amazon for much less.)
